Th3rd Culture is such a widespread and beautiful resting place for minds like ours, and if you’re reading this, trust me, you’re in for good. Not just cause I said so but because Th3rd Culture is “The cool”. The cool that Lupe Fiasco told you we’re all chasing, so settle down and enjoy because you caught it.
I’m one to love writing and music, and what’s a better way to put them together than by either criticism or actual songwriting, but I digress (as we all do). However, I shall try my best to get my thoughts across to you through whatever platform you may be reading this.
I am “the Music geek”.
Music is vast, music is life, music is love, learning and in all the many different tenses of those words. So I put it to you that music, just is…
It’s whatever you want it to be. I’m just here tapping into that flow of emotions and auditory bliss that soothes the body (which is music). To me, I’d say music is the most influential and most descriptive factor of an era. That is to say: “the music of a generation speaketh of it”.
With the leagues of artists and genres out there, I’m one to vary my tastes and listening ear as far as my brain’s comfortability would let me. I would go as far as putting Sergio Mendes, Mr. Oizo, Chase and Status, Jill Scott, Zero7, Arctic monkeys, Kano and Kanye West all together happily in one playlist. But, this just establishes that my ear is tolerant, not necessarily vast. I’m not that apt and at my depth with older music from those way older generations, but I can say I try….the Beattles, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Pink Floyd, Otis Redding, Harry Belafonte and so on, good music is good music…
So now you know me and my musical tastes….are you ready for what I’ve got in store?!
