POETRY CORNER – My Simple Life by Dark Sage

My Simple Life

I reside on the other side, rather in between

This world and the next, at least that’s how it seems

My life is now a juxtaposition of alternate realities

And I’m the protagonist caught up in the scene

Words dare not describe the way my life has been

As little devils like lemmings pile up inside of me

Falling through an endless chasm, no walls can be seen

And the bottom, my mind can hardly deem

As I walk through this maze, a single ray of light can not be seen

Impossibilities haunt me; I’m opening at the seams

They were not tightly knit, and I can hardly see

I fear what I am and what I am becoming

I hope for grace as I wander this dark fortress

As my only enemy is none but myself

If I can only believe in all of my being

And not fear what I see in the mirror in the morning

It’s hilarious how the good guy is now the antagonist

Of this not a fairytale but true story nonetheless

It’s dark or more or less black comedy

Or fiction, fantasy, horror and my simple life

Dark Sage.
